committee members

can you spare some time to support our wonderful allotment sites?

As committee members we meet approximately monthly from February to October and take an active part in the social and fundraising events, supporting the aims of the association - please see all the useful information on this website.

We are looking for passionate growers who have an allotment plot on any of the three sites: Odibourne, Spring Lane or Beehive Hill. It is very rewarding being part of the committee of such popular and attractive allotment sites - a sense of humour is essential!

If you would like to know more information or express an interset in joining the committee, please contact Ann Barry (plots 70b & 87b Odibourne) 01926 857240 or 07799564451.

Joan

Plot 5a, Spring Lane

How long have you had your plot?

A long time! My husband had it a long time and when he passed away I took it over. I am 90½.

Best thing so far this year

That I am able to do it and have fought the weeds. The peace and fresh air is what I like and the people - but we don’t have long conversations because we’re all busy.

What would you love to have a go at growing?

Sweet potatoes! I got some off the Freebay table we have to swap things here. I grow normal potatoes but I don’t eat them so I give them away to friends.

Top tip

To persevere - always do the best you can.
