the bridge

The suspension is over. Team KATA, nobly-led by Pete, certainly rose to the challenge on this occasion. Spanning a whole day, happy volunteers had no reason for humpbacks as they were well-nourished with cake a la Trudy, beverages from Paula, sarnies and some very toothsome scones made by Wendy and just when you thought the chips were down Gerry appeared with, erm, chips. There were no crossing words (well not really) even when the bridge had to be moved a smidgen in response to the request: cant-i-lever it over here a bit. Ingenuity ruled the day and all those arched backs towards the end could bask in the knowledge that those of us with short legs won’t have to walk so far in future.

Anyway, you probably can’t load-bearing any more of my bridge puns and you really want to see the video, so here it is.

Some serious thanks to Pete for organising, Chris for sorting out footings and blocks and everyone else who helped to make the entire project such a stonking success.
